UNICEF Event Features Katy Perry, Hillary Clinton

Stream Fan News was at the 12th annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball, Tuesday, November 29th, to honor Katy Perry when the audience was stunned to see Hillary Clinton show up to a chorus of cheers.

Clinton, 69, presented the “Firework” siren with the Audrey Hepburn Humanitarian Award for all her charitable endeavors. The ex-Secretary of State, who lost the recent presidential election to Republican, Donald Trump, was greeted by an overwhelming round of applause as she made her way to the stage. Perry was emotional during photo-ops with Clinton. Perry, was a major campaigner for Clinton and even performed at the Democratic National Convention in the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, in July.

After Perry’s work for Clinton, Hillary realized this was her best chance to help return the favor. Clinton stated the following with SFN in attendance. “I have seen Katy’s commitment to causes she believes in earnestly. I’ve gotten to spend time with her and realize how deeply she cares on making our world a better place. Clinton asserts that Perry is “serious about understanding the complex problems we face” and the need to pull people together to solve them. Clinton also mentioned that there’s a need for champions like Katy now more than ever as her passion, energy and voice is louder than a lion.

Perry has been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2013, jokingly referred to needing a tissue after Hillary’s speech. Perry confessed to Stream Fan News that Hillary had “lit a voice inside her that she’s never had before.” She added that this voice will never go out and continue to only get brighter and brighter. Perry also thanked Clinton for motivating her and many millions of people as well as appreciating Clinton for her incredible work and her incredible heart.
