Actress Goldie Hawn will be starring in her final film Stranded. Production of the film officially finished in August and is directed by Jonathan Gordon Levine who directed movies such as Warm Bodies and 50/50. Alongside Hawn will be comedian and actress Amy Schumer who has been taking to Twitter to get her fans hyped up about the movies release.
The fans of Goldie Hawn were saddened to learn that this was to be her last and final motion picture release for good! Although the news did come from inside sources, all fans can do now is appreciate the entertainment Hawn has provided them thus far and be excited to see her pop up after ten years since her last film!
Snatched is actually Hawn’s first film since 2002 role in “The Banger Sisters” also starring Susan Sarandon.
The upcoming films executive producer Katie Dippoid had major influence on Stranded’s story. This film was adapted from another screenplay by Dippoid as well as personal experiences of her own.
By using her relationship with her mother and ideas from her recent dreams, the film centers around a family vacation that falls apart. During a recent interview she claimed to have “taken the film of a normal path in order to shake things up a little bit”. Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn together made sense to be paired as the mother daughter duo in this comedy- adventure film.
Hawn has been A list celebrity status and notorious comedic actress since her recurring role in the sketch comedy show Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In which aired from 1968-1973. Her stardom continued through the heart to the 70’s as she played what has been referred to as “the it girl”, in films such as Butterflies Are Free, The One and Only, and Original Family Band. She landed an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Cactus Flower, playing Walter Matthau’s suicidal fiance.
Once she won the award her career took off quickly. She starred in many comedies throughout the 70’s and 80’s, and received another award nomination in 1980 for her lead role in military-comedy film Private Benjamin. Death Becomes Her, The Out of Towners, and Town and Country were all hits. She did voice overs for several children shows, has helped direct and produce several films, and even has record singles out such as Pitta Pitta and You Don’t Own Me with Bette Midler.
